GIS Intern

Fairbault County Central Services is accepting applications for a part-time, seasonal, nonunion position as GIS Intern in the GIS Department located in the Ag Center.

This Seasonal/Student position provides technical services related to the updating and maintenance of GIS data or maps as requested. It involves interacting within a team environment of Planning & Zoning, Drainage, County Recorder and GIS. This position will be provided with tasks that are both technically challenging and educationally stimulating.

Knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Office products, general computer use, use of the internet. Knowledge of computer aided GIS tools such as ESRI products.  Knowledge of principles, practices, methods, and techniques used in GIS.

Minimum requirements are a high school diploma and are currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree, minor, or certificate in geographic information systems.

This is a part-time, seasonal, non-union position.  The wage is $15.00 an hour with a maximum of 200 hours for the entire season.  The position will end once the 200-hour threshold is reached.
