Faribault County offers a competitive benefits package to full-time employees. Employees become eligible for benefits the 1st of the month following 30 days of active employment. Benefit offerings can and do change on occassion.

Benefits Available to Full-Time Employees

*A full-time employee is defined as working at a minimum of 30 hours per week.

  • Health Insurance - three plan options available for Single, Employee + 1, and Family (premium responsibility is shared between the County and the employee)
  • $30,000 Basic Life Insurance Policy (premium paid for by the County)
  • Annual HSA or VEBA contribution by the County (determined year-to-year and by bargaining unit contracts)
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • 11 Paid Holidays (unless specified otherwise in bargaining unit contracts)
  • PERA (Public Employee's Retirement Association) Retirement Plans

  • Workers' Compensation - covers medical expenses and lost wages for injuries that occur on the job and approved by Workers' Compensation insurance carrier
