Auditor/Treasurer's Office

Faribault County is currently accepting applications for a full-time Auditor/Treasurer.  The Auditor/Treasurer compiles financial and statistical reports for county, state and local agencies and performs general accounting/bookkeeping functions, performs specific property tax functions, as well as supervision of related Auditor/Treasurer staff.  The Auditor/Treasurer provides a check and balance system to ensure proper processing of County banking, investments, and financial related tasks.  The Auditor/Treasurer is responsible for the property tax system and administers Federal, state and location elections.

Knowledge required: Considerable knowledge of government accounting and finance as they are related to the fiscal and financial obligations of the county.  Knowledge of banking procedures including electronic transfer, federal and state deposits, and knowledge of Minnesota Statute 385.  Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures, Microsoft Office Suite, record keeping practices, and Minnesota property tax system.. 

Minimum requirements:  Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.  CPA certification preferred.  Five years of experience in financial management and accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient.

This is a full-time, exempt, non-union position, 40 hours per week.  Wage range $46.54-$63.44 per hour.
