Case: Motor Vehicle Accident With Injuries & Hazardous Materials Spill

On October 31, 2019 at approximately 1836 hours Faribault County Deputies responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of County Road 17 and 220th Street in Lura Township. Deputies arrived on scene and observed two vehicles with significant damage; a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado driven by William Ole Anderson (65) of Delavan, MN and a 1994 Ford F150 driven by a minor of rural Winnebago, MN. The minor party was transported by the Minnesota Lake Ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health Systems Mankato. The Wells Ambulance treated Anderson on scene and he was released. The vehicles were towed by JPR Towing.
The Ford F150 was carrying a fuel tank that leaked approximately 170 gallons of diesel fuel into a nearby field. The Minnesota Duty Officer and Minnesota Pollution Control Agency were notified and the Faribault County HazMat Team responded to the scene and a cleanup plan is in place.
The Faribault County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Easton Fire Department, Easton First Responders, Minnesota Lake Ambulance, Blue Earth Fire Department, Wells Ambulance, Minnesota Lake Police Department, Minnesota Duty Officer, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and Faribault County HazMat Team.
