What is the redetermination of benefits process?
- A Resolution of the Drainage Authority.
- A team of three Viewers are appointed to perform the redetermination and report the benefits and damages to landowners and the Drainage Authority.
- An engineer may be appointed to assist the Viewers.
- The Viewers’ Report is filed with the Faribault County Auditors Office.
- A property owners’ report is prepared by the Auditor from the Viewers’ Report and a copy is mailed to each parcel owner affected by the drainage system.
- A hearing is held to review the report within 30 days after the property owners’ report is mailed.
- The property owners’ report can be appealed up to 30 days after the Drainage Authority accepts it.
