Park Rules

The following park rules are designed to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all users. This is a condensed version of the park ordinance passed by the Faribault County Park Board. This ordinance is enforceable by all law enforcement personnel and violations are considered misdemeanors. The full ordinance is available at the Faribault County Courthouse.

GENERAL RULES & CONDUCT:

  • Gates will be locked at midnight
  • Quiet hours are from midnight - 8:00 a.m
  • Trash removal:  Trash bags are to be placed in the centralized dumpsters.  Trash will not be picked up at each site.  
  • Feeding wildlife is not permitted (this includes cats). Food and trash should be cleaned up as not to attract wildlife.
  • Picnicking is permitted only in designated picnic areas.  No person, or group of persons, shall exclude others from a picnic area.
  • Camping is permitted only in designated camping areas within the prescribed limitations of the site.
  • All campers must register online.  At least one member of your camping party must be at least 21 years old.
  • Pets: Pets are currently permitted in the campground.  Pet owners must show proper consideration for other campers and comply with park regulations.  Animals must not be left unattended at the site, vehicle, or camping unit.  A leash, not to exceed 6’, is required when walking a pet.  You are required to clean up and dispose of animal feces in proper trash receptacles.  Pets are NOT permitted on swimming beaches. Owners of un-leashed animals will receive a warning that they are in violation of Park Rules. On the third warning, they will be fined $50.00, on the fourth warning the animal will be banned from the campgrounds for the remainder of the season.

The following is prohibited at Faribault County Parks:

  • Acting in a violent, immoral, abrasive, loud, or obscene manner or displaying any other conduct that creates or tends to create a breach of public peace.
  • Intoxication or possession of illegal drugs.  This is a violation of Federal/State law and offenders may be removed immediately.
  • Vandalism of any kind, disrespect, or damage of park facilities.
  • Glass beverage containers or kegs.
  • Park or operate any motor vehicle outside of the designated roads or parking areas within the boundaries of any county park.
  • Operation of any vehicle in a reckless manner or at a speed exceeding the posted speed limit.
  • Advertise, in any manner, a private activity or function without the consent of the Parks Manager.
  • Display or have in one's possession, a firearm or air gun, unless unloaded and cased.
  • Hunting or molesting wildlife.

Violators shall be subject to immediate removal from the park, guilty of a misdemeanor, or both.

Any person who violates these rules will be asked to comply or leave the park immediately.  If violators refuse to comply with the rules or leave the park, they shall be prosecuted and will lose future park privileges.

The Parks Manager and/or Campground Host have full and final authority with the backup of law enforcement to ensure these regulations are followed.
