Faribault County Central Services is accepting applications for a full-time, union position as Buildings/Facilities Maintenance Assistant.

Primary duties include, but are not limited to: assisting the Building/Facilities Maintenance Director with supervising and managing the maintenance operations to maximize safety and efficiency; performs medium to semi-skilled level operations, repairs, and maintenance on various plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) and other county equipment/property; assists with coordinating maintenance projects; assists with handling vendor selection/bidding process; operates groundskeeping and landscaping machinery and tools to maintain county grounds and facilities.

This position works a 40-hour work week with on-call weekend rotation and overtime as required. Wage is $20.42 - $24.80 per hour. Starting wage is based on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications: high school diploma or G.E.D. with vocational training/certification in the maintenance field and 2 years of facilities/maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Valid Minnesota driver’s license required. A valid MN boiler license is preferred, but can be obtained within 6 months of employment.
